I am searching for info on Patrick Egan born approximately 1830 and his wife Margaret Harrison born sometime between 1835 and 1841.  Know that Patrick Egan is listed in the Griffith's evaluation  and that

Patrick and Margaret lived there until about 1860 when they immigrated to England along with Margaret's mother Honorah Sullivan Harrison who was born about 1808 but not sure where.

I know that 2 of Patricks and Margarets children, Bridget (1857) and John (1859) were born in Mayo.

Margaret Harrison Egan is my great-aunt as her brother, Michael Harrison was my great-grandfather.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

  • Hi Peggy,

There is 1 record of a baptism/birth of Patrick Egan born 1830 + - 2 years in Mayo on www.rootsireland.ie. which is a pay site.

There was no record of Margaret Harrison's birth in Mayo but there were 19 matches for Margaret Harrison born 1837 + - 4 years in all counties.

There is no record of their marriage in any county.

    I couldn't find the children's births either.

The Tithe Applotments (1823-37) which are free to search has 42 Egans in Mayo.

So, if you purchase the baptism record you would get his parents' names to find them on the Tithe Applotments. You could also search for his parents' marriage.
