Looking for any information on the Parents of 2 brothers Alfred Melia b. 1869 and Thomas melia b. 1872 in County Mayo Parish unknown. Parents unknown.
The brothers were listed on the Ship Carmania in 1907 bound for New York from Liverpool.
By 1901 & 1911 Alfred Melia has married Catherine Lacey and living in Manchester, Lancashire with 5 children.
Their birth place and parents are a mystery so far. Please help !!!!

Hi Gordon,
The Melia public member tree on ancestry has Michael's parents as John & Bridget
I searched rootsireland.ie for Michael's baptism/birth 1868 Mayo & got no result.
I then tried without Bridget's name added and got no matches in Mayo but 1 in Tipperary.
I then searched for Thomas 1872 (no Bridget) and got 2 matches - 1 Mayo & 1 Dublin.
i went through 113 parishes in Mayo and found that it was Aghamore (RC).
I found 2 marriages for John Melia + Bridget - Galway 1841 & Roscommon 1865.
rootsireland.ie is a pay site but if you purchase the recrd you will get the parents' names.
