Hi
I am trying to trace an ancestor who was tried and sentenced in December 1806 in Castlebar courthouse.
Depending on the documents I can find in Australia his name is either Patrick Harrigan or Patrick Hargedon or Patrick Hargedan or Patrick Haddigaddy or Patrick Harrigham he was born between 1780 and 1788. I believe a relative probably his father or uncle was Edward Hargedan. Patrick/Edward were from Foxford
He was sentenced to transportation for life to New South Wales Australia arriving in 1807 on the “Duke of Portland”
I am wondering if you know of any records still in existence and is there any way I can have access to them.
Patrick was the son-in-law of James Ruse a First Fleeter and also credited with being the first farmer in NSW.
Any information or guidance in trying to trace Patrick would be appreciated
Thanks
Margaret McLenna
