I have found a baptism of Andrew Keegan in the parish records. the date was 14 June 1812. Mullingar parish, Meath diocese, westmeath county. Looking for family? siblings? Is the family still there? Andrew left Ireland in 1848 and settled in Philadelphia. He married Margaret Jenkins in 1852. He died as a Northern soldier in December 1861 from typhus. They had 8 children (Joseph, William, Barbara, Mary, John(my ggf), Margaret, James & Rose)

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Can you share more details on the baptismal record? Which church? What were his parents names?

John:
Did not see a marriage record for the parents. I did find a baptismal record for an older brother Patrick. The 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Mullingar does list six Keegan reocrds but no Edward http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/westmeath/mullingar.htm No way to tell if any distant relatives are still there. You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
