I am trying to locate information about my relatives related to Patrick Comiskey (last name as written in USA); date of birth 1838. Baptism 4 March 1838, Parish: Clonmellon; County: Westmeath, Record from St. Peter & Paul Church. Father is Thomas Comesky and Mother is Mary Reilly. Patrick Comesky Baptism 1st Sponser William Comesky and 2nd Sponsor is Catherine Winslow. Found a Marriage record 25 May 1837 Clonmellon Church Parish Thomas Comesky and Mary Reilly parents of Patrick Comiskey. Patrick Comiskey emigrated to New Orleans, Louisiana, USA in 1857 (per US Census Data). Birth record lists address as Geehanstown. Looking for any information to help my geneological research. -

Hello JC Hartnett - Carol Johnson here. I saw your name Cummiskey, Comisky in a document I downloaded a few years ago entitled John Kinsley's Irish Settlement 1830-1986. This 90 page document is about the Kinsley Family who settled in Stowell, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, United States. The 3rd opening paragraph reads "The Kinsley story also brings into play relationships with other significant....families: Burke, Cummiskey, Cullen, Corocran and Hope, for example. We know that these families where all interrelated by marriage.... etc" The name Cummiskey and deritives thereof are sprinkled throughout this document, may have information for you. Take care.
