Also known as Kilskyre is in the barony of Upper Kells containing the post town of Crossakeel and several villages, contributing a total of 4537 people.
There is ruins of an abbey that was destroyed by the danes dating back to the 13th century. Anyone who is interested inn heritage can take footage of the site located at the outskirts of the village.
The R.C. Division forms part of a district of Ballinlough.
