Searching Fitzgerald and Flood families

Just to clarify was Thomas Flood born in 1824 as opposed to 1924?

Do you have any documentation pertaining to the family that mentions any townlands/parishes/villages or towns? As civil registration did not begin in Ireland until 1864, most records prior to this were kept by the churches. However, to know which registers are relevant to the Floods and the Fitzgeralds you need to to know what parish they came from.

Did the families emigrate?If yes, do you know anything about their emigration? Generally, more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at, it could be a place to find more information-and perhaps even an exact place of origin.
