In the obituary of my gggrandmother Anne McDonnell (nee Smith) in 1910 there is listed a " T. Connell, Piercetown (cousin) " Other cousins listed are Reillys and Farrellys. The 1901 census for Piercetown had Thomas Connell living with his sisters Ellen and Mary A., and niece Anne M. Farrelly. I would love to make contact with these Connell cousins. Thank you, Declan Barron newparkhouse.ennis@eircom.net

  • Hi

    Thank you for your message.

You may consider contacting the local parish office for assistance - and possibly place an add in the weekly newsletter as it is 20th century people you are searching for.

Civil registration records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

Valuations office in Dublin (http://www.valoff.ie) will have a record of the land registry from 1855 to modern times. This will assist in tracing any land that may have been associated with the family.(as it usually passed on to a relation).

Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

    Kind regards,
