Duffy Family -- Does anyone here know anything at all about the Duffys who inhabited Lot 10A, Lacklom, in Inishkeen - during the late 1800's?  James is listed on tithe applotments until 1880.  His wife Catherine Cooke departs in the 1890's.  They had children -- James (b. 1843); Anne (b. 1839); Michael (b. 1840); Catherine (b. 1857).  James was my great grandfather, and came to the US in about 1870.  His sister, Catherine, married Patrick McGough in Inishkeen on 27 January 1880.  They resided in Dundalk, and had many children, at least one of whom (James McGough) came to the USA.  Any descendants of any of these?

  • Hi Ed

I had a look in the Irish phone book (www.118.ie/) and selected People Search and entered Duffy and Inishkeen and got 12 matches.

I am not permitted to supply the personal details of people on the site but I suggest you might write to them as we have had success with this approach. If you cant find them I can send the details to a personal email if you wish.

  • Col, thank you for your thoughtful and generous-spirited reply.  I took a look at the link you suggested, and it appeared that all the Duffys I could find were living in Dundalk (Louth).  Did you seem matches actually living in Inniskeen?  If so, I would love to see them.  My email address is edwduffy75@gmail.com    Again, thank you.  Ed Duffy
