Would love any information regarding my ggg grandfather Patrick Kelly. I have very little information about him. I know he was a native of County Monaghan and was a Roman Catholic.
Patrick Kelly was born abt 1793 and was a linen weaver before being convicted of theft and transported to Australia.
He was sentenced for theft at a trial in County Monaghan in March 1814 and received a term of 7 years. He was transported to Australia on the convict ship "Canada lll" leaving Cork on 5 Dec 1814 and arriving in Port Jackson on 5 Aug 1815.
Would Irish newspapers have reported the court proceedings or is it possible to access court records of the trial? I'd really appreciate any help.
Fond regards

Hi Cazwhit,
Are you the same Cazwhit looking for information on John Payne and Kate Atkin from Tullamore?
I saw a message on genesreunited (2009), but am not registered, so cannot react.
Also saw your name on the messageboard fot Payne/Whitfield history and I am in contact with Wendy from Canada at the moment.
If so, please contact me. My greatgrandfather from Tarana (Edward) was John's brother.

Hi there,
Unfortunately I have had no reply to my message. Is there anyone who can get me into contact with Carol? Maybe a manager of this message board?
I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!
Ingrid
