My great grandfather Robert Holmes was born on 4 June 1832 in the Church of Ireland parish of Tisaran. His father was John Holmes and his wife was Jane Hardy. John was a member of the County Constabulary and it seems he and his family may have been tenants of The Rev Henry King of Ballylin Estate (townland of Ballylin). There are a number of Holmes families in and around Ferbane town and I am trying to identify which family John Holmes is connected to. I would also like to establish who Jane Hardy's parents were. They may have come from Shannonbridge.
