My ancestors were James Clavin and Margaret Cronley, who were married 6 Aug 1836 as recorded in the register for the Church of the Assumption in Tullamore. Records from that church register are missing or incomplete and I could not locate any birth/baptismal entries for them. As a result, I have not been able to determine who their parents or siblings were. From later information, I deduced that James and Margaret were probably born sometime around 1812-1815.
The church register, however, does show that James and Margaret had the following children with the corresponding baptismal dates: Mary (21 Jul 1839), Bridget (4 Feb 1842), Catherine (22 Jan 1843), Joseph (6 Apr 1845), Anne (7 Jul 1847), and Eliza (8 Apr 1850). The entire family appears to have emigrated to New York City sometime after 1850, perhaps in stages. The New York State Census shows them living together in New York City in 1855. I am descended from Joseph, who married Catherine McKeown in New York City on 13 Aug 1865.
In 2015, I made a trip to Tullamore to find out whatever I could about my Clavin ancestors and any relations who might still reside there. I did meet with some of the family of the late Danny Clavin, who was a well known store-keeper in Tullamore. Unfortunately, we were not able to positively link together our family trees. There are other Clavin families in the area with whom I did not have a chance to meet.
I am reaching out to anyone who might be able to offer suggestions that may help me locate any cousins I may have today living in Tullamore or the surrounding areas.

Hello John
Attached is the marriage record from Tullamore for James and Margaret. There are a lot of Clavins around the Tullamore area and I will pass on your messge to some of them to see if they are anyway connected.
