My son and I are visiting Ireland for the first time from April 21-29, 2013. Our second stop on the trip is to a castle in Co. Roscommon and I'm hoping to visit my maternal grandmother, Teresa Leech McGovern's childhood home in Ballintober. I believe we still have a family member living in the home named Martin Breheny.
If anyone has any information about Martin or the Leech family, I would appreciate hearing from them.
With best regards,
Susan Prout McMahon

Susan:
I found what appears to be your family in the 1901 and 1911 censuses in Caran townland, Drumatemple parish. Based on her age in the censuses, Teresa Leech was born around 1896.
The townland of Caran is about three miles southeast of the village of Ballintober. You would need to ask someone in the village for directions to Caran.

I checked the Irish phonebook but did not locate a record for a Martin Breheny.
