I am looking for the burial place of Festus Keane who died on 14th May 1961 from Garraunbaun, Ballynakill, Galway. His wife's name was Mary (Duane) Keane. Their son Festy (Festus) Keane died in 1980, and according to the Obituary in newspaper, he was buried in Breenatin Cemetary??? Where is that?
Also looking for a baptism record for a child born to Festus Keane and Mary Duane sometime between 1906 and 1908, but may have died after birth, as the 1911 census states they were married for five years. They were living in Garraunbaun, Ballynakill at that time. According to the census return only two of their three children survived, Patrick and Festus. They did have more children after 1911. I am also looking for their marriage record (no civil marriage record found for them) circa 1905-1907?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Anne-Marie
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in replying to your message.
As you can see from the link below, Garraunbaun is a Civil Parish in Ballynakill, Co. Galway:
Records for the Roman Catholic Parish of Ballynakill begin in 1869. There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.
Some other websites that may be helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/ - you can search the 1901/1911 Census on the National Archives page too
The National Library of Ireland: http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
The National Archives UK ? genealogy search:http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/
The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland: http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/family_history.htm
Irish Times: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/index.htm
Irish Genealogy Tool kit: http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/
You could contact the parish directly for further information, particularly as you have a definite time span within which to search and as mentioned above, most online parish records are available only until 1900: http://www.mylocalnews.ie/galway-14/connamara-372/church-4/roman-catholic-20/ballinakill-parish-letterfrack-1643/
Remember to post any new information that you find here. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Best of luck with your search
