Timothy Maxwell, possibly from Ballinameen, a blacksmith, married Mary Jane Kelly of Elphin in the early 1800s. Their children that I know of were: Patrick(b. 1819), Mary (b.1821), Bridget (b.1824), Elizabeth (b.1828) and Thomas (b. 1830). All these children were born in Elphin. On Thomas's marraige entry in the parish register, it says his father Timothy was from Ogulla.
I'm looking for more information on Timothy's children. I'm sure he had more than the five mentioned above. I'd also like to know what happened to children, eg. who they married, children, occupations, homeplaces, etc.
Any help would be appreciated,
Alicia

Hi Alicia
www.rootsireland.ie/ has one more child: Eleanor baptised 27 Jan 1834 Elphin
Perhaps a short subscription to roots would give you time to search for the marriages and deaths of the six children.
Another free source is www.irishgenealogy.ie

There is a Maxwell family still in Bellanagare which historically would be in Kilcorkey Parish. What makes me think it might be related to your Maxwell is that until relatively recently they were the local blacksmiths. I don't hold much hope however of accessing any records as registration only started in about 1864 for this parish.

Did anyone find any more information on these Elphin Maxwells? I am searching for the family of a William Maxwell who was born in Elphin, Roscommon in 1778. He left to join the military at age 15 but surely left Maxwells behind. How can I find the living Maxwells in Bellanagare?
