I have found the son of Thomas and Ellen, Thomas Evans, who was baptised 29 Jun 1855 in Ballyviranne.

I'm looking for the birth and parents of Thomas the father. He would have been born between 1810 and 1820.

Looked at www.irishgenealogy.ie
Since the marriage record indicates that Ellen was from Shanaceal, is it possible that Tomas was also from Shanaceal? See records below.

Thanks, Roger.
I found the 1811 birth of a Thomas Evans, and also Ellen Knightly's birth. It just doesn't seem like enough to tie the 1811 Thomas Evans to the Thomas Evans on the marriage record in 1841.
There is also a Thomas Evans born in Shanacheal 16 Aug 1812; Thomas Evans born 8 Oct 1807 in Castledrum; Thomas Evans born 3 Jun 1806 in Lack.
Do you have any tips for me? Thomas and Ellen had three children (that I can find in that database), John, Ellen and Thomas, so naming conventions point to Thomas 1811, or Thomas 1806, since the first child was named John - which is Ellen's father's name as well.
Are there other places to search Kerry records, or have I already struck gold with what I have?

I think you have struck gold with the www.irishgenealogy.ie
I just noticed that the first sponsor on the Ellen Knightly baptismal record is a John Evans and the father in the Thomas Evans 1811 baptismal record is a John Evans. Coincidence? My only question is why they waited 29 years to get married.if they were from the same townland.

Thanks so much Roger!
I think it must have been sick parents, or parents to support, that kept them from marrying. But, the stories are all lost. I'm so lucky my ggf was naturalized in Massachusetts, that paperwork gave me his town and parent's names. Without that I never would have found them.
I appreciate your help.
