I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Frank Brown.  He emigrated to America in 1894 and  married Catharine Keane (or Kane) in Philadelphia, Pa in 1900.  They had four daughters born in Philadelphia:  Marie (born 1901), Winifred (born 1903), Catherine (born 1904), and Gertrude (born 1907).  Catharine and the four girls returned to Ireland in 1909 on the ship Haverford according to the UK Incoming Passenger Lists.  The 1911 Ireland Census shows Frank Brown listed as a widower in Roscommon.  His four daughters are listed as well as a son named Frank (born in Roscommon)  who is 2 years old in 1911.  All four girls returned to  the United States in the 1920's and remained there with their families. We had never heard of a brother Frank and I have not found any records of him coming to the United States.  Where can I look to find information on the deaths of Frank and Catharine and any information on the son?

    I found a brith index record for a Frank Martin Brown in the October-December quarter in 1909. Not sure if this is the 2 year old son. I also found a death index record for a Catherine Brown who died in the same quarter. I'm assuming she died during child birth. but there is one catch. This Catherine Brown was 60 which seems too old for having children unless there was a typo in the recordation process. I used www.familysearch.org so you can do your own searching. I did not find a death index record for the elder Frank Brown. If you are interested in getting a copy of either record, you can write to the GRO www.groireland.ie   fill out their form and provide the quarter/year, Castlereagh and the volume and page number.
