Peter William Costello was married to Ellen Kennedy  we believe in 1820.  at the ossary in Killkenny.  They had three kids (William, Martin and Thomas)before leaving to PEI.  Any help appreciated.  Roots Ireland has the marriage but I could not read it. No other proof they were from Killkenny.

If someone could do a fresh look-up it wouldbe appreciated greatly.

    Hello again!

I did not see the marriage in Roots Ireland records. Ossory is actually the Diocese. What was the parish?

  • Interesting you found a John Costello married to a Ellen Kennedy.

As stated it ws though the three brothers (John, Peter, Pierce) who came to PEI were brothers from Windgap,  Kilkenny.  Do not know parish except what is listed below.  No records exist in PEI on birthdates of the three or where they came from.

We believe that Peter William was born in 1820 as his baptism was on Apr 17, 1804 at St. Mary, S, Kilkenny IRE.

The other record searched by the volunteer stated that he was married in 1820 at the ossary kilkenny.

No o0ther details as the volunteer has died and could not interpret/read the records.

To be teased so with no details or proof.

We understand from other researchers in NZ and aust. that there is a lot of costellos/costelloe/ costellows from Kilkenny but cannot connect to them without proof hence the request.

  • NoDNA testing as I m disabled on limited income.  COST IS TOO HIGH

DNA is only as good as the company and library to match.  bETTER TO WAIT FOR FREE RECORDS ON LINE.
