I'm looking to see if there are any living members of the following families still in Carrowmacbryan, Muingwore, Rathlee, Castleconnor, or Easky:

  • Taylor (my ancestors were Patrick, Christopher, Joseph, and Thomas)
  • Duffy (Catharine, Patrick (Jr.& Sr. 1800),
  • Kilcullen (Martin, Thomas, Catharine, John, John (1757)
  • Muldoon (Barbara)

I'll be visiting the area the week of January 28th and would love to meet with any distant cousins or people who can point out the old Taylor homestead in Carrowmacbryan.

Thanks,

  • Hi Jenny!

If you have not done so already, could you complete this form regarding your trip to Ireland in January  https://www.irelandxo.com/meet-and-greet

I'm not sure if we have a volunteer in that area of Co. Sligo but it will alert our Administrator  regarding your trip.

  • Hi Jenny,

So sorry I am seeing this just today as I have knowledge of a Taylor family from Carrowmacbryne.  In fact, my great grandmother's sister was married to a Christopher (Christy) Taylor and their home was the next homestead up the road to Lenadoon.  There are also Duffys in the neighborhood who still reside there, (alas: last time I was there, my family's home (the Cowleys) as well as the Taylors' home were no longer occupied.  Please let me know if you were able to make any contacts in Rathlee, if not, I may be able to put you in touch with some folks who may be able to help.

    Cheers!
