    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I tried searching on Roots Ireland in Sligo from 1831-1841 for a Michael McMahon with father James but got no record. Here is a link to the online RC parish register for Templeboy. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0756  The summary page indicates they have baptismal records from 1826-1838. I would review the register to see if you can find Michael or possibly siblings.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I went through the 1836 records and did not find a baptism for Michael McMahon. As you likely figured out the records are in Latin and Michaelum is the Latin for Michael. The format is: childs name, legitimate or Illigetimate son/daughter of parents names followed by sponsors names.

Do you know for sure that the James McMahon in the Tithe listings is the father of your Michael?
