I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilrush civil parish. There was only one Kennedy listed - a Patrick living in Coolmuinga townland. Your Patrick was probably too young to be leasing land but possibly this is his father, an uncle or another relative.

IYou may also want to visit the Co. Clare library site which has a lot of good genealogy information.

Thank you for your interest and your reply. I know nothing of Patrick's siblings. As I said his mother was Ellen (nee) Tuohy. His father was John. I would like to throw another into the mix. Patrick married Bridgid (nee) Collins.she was also from Clare. Her father was Thomas Collins her mother Bridgid (nee) McMahon. They came to Australia as a family . A number of that family are buried at Tower Hill near Port Fairy. Always hoping for bits of the jigsaw. Thank you again.
