Like to find any information on my Tipparery families. Michael Shortis 1837 1899 married Bridgid Cleary 1848 1917 in Australia. Michael is the son of Patrick Shortis and Johannah O'Rourke from Cahir. Bridgid is the daughter of Thomas Cleary and Eliza. I do not have Eliza's maiden name. I believe they came from Cahir also. But the Clearys are proving elusive. Michael and Bridgid are buried in Trafalgar vic Australia. I am their greatgrandaughter. Always hoping. Thank you.

Dear Patricia, i was going to correct you on where Michael Shortis was buried but you have obviously corrected that. His death notice and funeral details are in the Age newspaper Melbourne on Sat 6th May 1899 pg 5 and 12, he was my GGG uncle, I being a decendent of his brother John. I have no more details on Bridget so I might do some further research. have my tree on ancestry and My Heritage. met Thoma Hussey a couple of years ago in Cahir and he showed us the old Shortis homes,it was amazing.
