OhMyGosh 🤗. I’m not sure if this is the correct place to write as I have been going around I circles. My name is Kerry and I live in Australia. To date I have not been so lucky tracing this line of my ancestors but I think now I may be slowly breaking down my big brick wall. My 2nd gGrandmother is Johanna Callaghan and I’m now thinking I’ve finally found the correct one. She was born in 1845 Cappawhite, Tipperary to John & Honora? Dwyer. Johanna looks to have immigrated to Australia alone at the age of 22 and married a Joseph Gleeson. I’m hoping I have the correct family and site and am looking so forward to connecting with some of my family members 🍀.
Cheers,
Kerry 😘

Kerry:
Where did you locate the 1845 baptismal record for Johanna Callaghan in Cappawhite? Do you have an exact date for the baptism? I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and did find a July 10 1853 baptism for a Michael Callaghan with father John Callagher and mother Honor Dwyer. The records was in St. Mary's Clonmel.

Kerry:
I searched the subscription site FindMyPast.ie and found a December 2 1846 baptismal record in Cappawhite RC parish parents John Callaghan and Honora Dwyer.
Sister to Johanna?

Hi Kerry,
I have Dwyer, Callaghan and Gleeson in my family tree. I am also based in Australia. I don't have your Johanna but with so many brick walls there could be a connection there. I do have a Honora Dwyer born 1816 in Cappawhite but she is distant and related by marriage only.

Hi guys 👋. Oh my gosh!!! Thanku all soooo much for your replies. I am so grateful. I’m not real techno savvy but improving as I go. Firstly I would like to apologise for only just seeing these messages now as I lost this site and had no idea where my message went or even if it went at all 😂. I just went searching again to see if I could find it or try sending something once more and found all your replies. I am so stoked 🙏. I won’t lose you all again 🤗. Roger I don’t actually have any source of birth/baptism information for Johanna as such, just a rough idea of her age re: her immigration records. I have her parents names as John Callaghan & Honora Dwyer from her marriage certificate in Australia but also know they are not always correct. I have a ? Sister (as same parents) baptised 2/12/ 1846 named Catherine in Cappawhite but no other siblings for her to date. I’m wondering if Michael could be her brother?? The mothers name is correct but not the fathers, unless it’s a spelling error. Thanku so much Roger 🙏. Is Clonmel that area? I really appreciate your help & support 🤗. Hi Diane 👋 . So lovely to hear from you and my apologies as above. Oh that is awesome 😎. I have struggled with my 2 GGrandmother for a while now and thought I would never find anything on her. It’s so confusing with all the duplicated naming but it can also be a Godsend. My head spins 😵💫. My Johanna’s mother Honora Dwyer I have born in 1821 & baptised 6/1/1821 in Cappawhite, Tipperary. I have her parents as James Dwyer & Norry Hogan. I know my Johanna married a Joseph Gleeson in Australia in 1869 and had two children, Maria & Honora. Her husband died at 30 years of age and she lost her firstborn, Maria, when she was about 4 years of age. I descend from Honora whom went on to marry a Harry Irish in Northern NSW. Are any of those familiar to you? There is another family with a lot of similar name’s down around Goulburn way but I haven’t quite connected them yet. Hope this helps you in some way 🤗

Hi Kerry,
Sorry, I've only today seen your reply to this. I do have all the surnames you mention in my tree, on both maternal and paternal sides. But then I have found through research that surnames tend to cross over on both sides anyway. I also have information on the name Honora that I gathered while researching my Honora, which I'm happy to share with you. I'm also happy to help you in your research. Dwyer is my maiden name and I was born in Goulburn. Maybe we can connect through email where I can share info/documents with you?

Hi Kerry!
I went back and looked at my two previous replies. I noticed that I failed to show the name of the girl baptized in 1846 and it was Catherine which matches you info.
Secondly, I can't find the Michael record that I mentioned in my first reply so I must have made a searching mistake.
Here is the Cappawhite parish register https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0252 in case you want to search for other possible children.

Thanku Roger for your reply and help 🤗. It is very much appreciated. I will check out that site that you kindly shared and see what more I can find. I’m so happy to have the name of at least one of her siblings. I’m not sure if there were any more. These families can be so tricky as most of them all share the same names 😵💫. It certainly makes it challenging but such a wonderful feeling when you can start putting a story to their lives.
Thankyou once again and take care 🤗
Kerry 🍀
