Thomas Doyle married Catherine Flynn in Clogheen, Tipperary, 1879. They had a son, Kieran, whom they left in Ireland with relatives before they emigrated to the US. I would like to find family homes, records, and cemeteries when I visit Ireland in June. The Flynn family home was on Pound Lane.

I don't see Kieran Doyle in the 1901 census in the Clogheen area.
Likely 1901 census record for parents of Catherine Flynn

second record death of Edmond Flynn 1906

It looks like this Kieran Doyle left Ireland before the Irish 1901 census - there's a likely match for him listed on an Ancestry Collection titled 'Pennsylvania, U.S., Arriving Passenger and Crew Lists', arriving Philadelpia 18th May 1899 on the Pennland, age 19 (born c 1880), occupation/trade labourer, last residence 'Clogheen' , destination in the US Chicago. His fare was paid by an Aunt with the surname Flynn in Chicago.
There are several other US records on Ancestry which are a good match - Naturalization, WW 1 Draft Registration and several census returns etc.. he seems to have married a Mary Ann Early/Earlie 1904 in Chicago.
It looks like his parents may have ended up in Ohio..

my name is Kieran Doyle and my grandfather was Kieran Doyle who was born and lived in clogheen throughout his life He died in sept 1981.
The Doyle family lived in Shanrahan Clogheen for many generations and on Main St in later years
My father Joseph (died in 2016) was one of the last generation of Doyle's to be born and grow up in Clogheen He and his siblings moved away or emigrated to England for work and when their parents and aunts died, that was the end of the line in Clogheen, ending what seems to have been a 250/ 300 year connection with the town.
i hope you have had a fruitful visit to Ireland.
I just saw your message in the last few hours. There are family graves in Shanrahan and the house in Shanrahan and Main St are still lived in.
Best Wishes in your endeavours,
Kieran

Original PosterKieran/Shane:
Kieran thanks for commenting! Not sure if your Kieran is the same person the poster is looking for although there may be a family connection.
Here is the 1911 census and your grandfather was 2. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Tipperary/Clogheen/Sha…
The poster is looking for a Kieran Doyle born around 1880 and probably the Kieran that Shane found leaving Ireland in 1899.
All the best!

It is the same family, I think.
Thomas was a carpenter and Catherine was a dress maker.
Thomas's father was Kieran.
Kind Regards
Kieran
