Seeking any info about John Shea, member of this parish. John married Johanna Costello and had a son, Patrick around 1841. John was a tenant of Sir T Esmonde along with a James Shea. John also had two daughters, Anastasia and Margaret.

Robert:
Munster is a province which includes six counties in southeast Ireland: Kerry, Cork, Tipperary, Clare, Waterford and Limerick. Do you have more specific info on the parish where John and Johanna lived? Co. Kerry is a likely possibility. You may want to look at www.irishgenealogy.ie which has a lot of church records for Co. Kerry and Co. Cork. I looked for Patrick Sheas in Co. Kerry for 1841 and there were at least 12 listed.

Hi Robert,
ancestry has Griffiths Valuation
I searched for John Shea and James Shea with Lessor Esmonde and found both of them:
Townland: Ballytohil Parish: Grangemockler County Tipperary Barony Slievardagh
Lessor was T Esmonde Bart
However, I was unable to find the marriage of John & Johanna on rootsireland.ie but searched birth/baptisms for father John Shea and mother Costello and found Patrick 1841, Anastasia (2 - 1841 & 1848) and Margaret (2 - 1852 & 1853) but in Waterford not Tipperary!
There are lots of John Sheas in Waterford on Griffiths - are you sure about Grangemockler?

Robert:
Assuming your family was RC, you may want to contact St. Mary's Church in Ballyneale. According to a resource book that I have, records are available back to 1839.
