Hello! I am researching my 4th great grandparents. We are looking for any information on their parents, siblings, or any potential relatives still in Ireland!

James Holmes b. August 4, 1823 in Fethard. We believe his parents are Denis Holmes and Ellen Connell. We have no information on possible siblings or birth death or marriage info for his parents.

James Holmes married Helen Brennan on June 15 1843 in Mullinahone. We have the Roman Cathloic marriage record.

We have no additional information on Helen Brennan. We are guessing she was born around 1822. We have nothing on her parents or siblings or even which county she is from for sure. 

They migrated to Cleveland, Ohio US in March 1849.

They had 2 children in Ireland:  Robert Holmes, b. 1843 and Mary Holmes b. 1848. They had 3 more children in the US: James b. 1857, William b. 1861, and John b. 1863.  Their oldest child Robert is my great grandmother's grandfather. We have his baptism record from the Roman Catholic records. We could not find his sister Mary's record. 

If anyone out there has any information on either family or happens to be related, we would love to hear from you. Thanks so much for your time.

    I checked the subscription site FindMyPast.ie and found three children of James and Helen and also Mary was born in 1845 not 1848.

    Robert Holmes baptized December 21 1843 RC parish Mullinahone parents James Holmes and Ellen Brennan

    Mary Holmes baptized December 3 1845 RC parish Mullinahone parents James Holmes and Ellen Brennan

    Catherine Holmes baptized February 21 1848 RC parish Mullinahone parents James Brennan and Ellen Brennan

    You may want to consider a general DNA test which should provide you with matches with some 3rd and 4th cousins who could be in Ireland, America, Australia etc.

    I searched further on FindMyPast.ie and found two siblings for James Holmes.and possibly a third sibling.

    Thomas Holmes baptized July 12 1825 Fethard RC parish parents Denis Holmes and Nelly Connell

    Dennis Holmes baptized January 27 1828 Fethard RC parish parents Dennis Holmes and Ellen Connell

    Martin Holmes baptized November 14 1838 Cashel RC parish parents Denis Holmes and Ellen Connell family lived in Bohermore Not sure if Martin is a sibling
