    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located baptismal records for the three youngest children including Thomas. See below. The records for Drangan RC parish are not on Roots Ireland (Most parishes in the Diocese of Cashel and Emly are not on Roots). I then went to another subscription site FindMyPast.ie   and they had records in Drangan as follows: Edmund 1835 Margaret 1840 Johanna 1842 John 1848 Richard 1850 Bridget 1852. There are gaps so it is possible there are more than the nine children I located. Michael and Catherine were married in Mullinahone in 1830 (see last record below)

  • Good day:) I'm looking for Tobin researchers in Kilkenney, waterford, Tipperary , Cork and later Dubkin. The vast majority of Tobins derive from these areas. I have a Michael Tobin born ca 1836 who has been a brick wall for me. I'm told Michael left Ireland as a boy. He has at least one son James Buchanan Tobin born in Yorkville section of manhattan( upper east side) in 1862. I have not found any siblings, death certificates that can pin point Michael Tobin. He and his wife Mary Ellen Callahan are listed on James B's death certificate. Unfortunately, I have not been able to positively ID to my family the numerous Michael Tobin searches I have done . A cousin did a DNA test that showed Kilkenny as a likely birthplace. Look forward to hearing from you. Please post this message on the Boards for Tipperary,Waterford, Cork, and Dublin. Many thanks. Look forward to your replies.
