I am Ian Bogue, from Auckland, New Zealand. Most Bogues here are descended from three brothers who emigrated from Minterburn, near Caledon in Tyrone: John (1877, my Great-grandfather) and Patrick and Denis/Daniel (1879, sponsored by John).
A reunion was held some years ago and trees were produced. I have started to put Bogues and others onto my "Bogue Family Tree" on MyHeritage.com.
I know Patricia Bogue of Dungannon and had the pleasure of staying with her in December 2003, Patricia visited New Zealand a few years earlier. I also met her late brother Joe as well as Paddy Bogue, Ford dealer from Castleblaney in Monaghan. I have seen the grave of John, Patrick and Daniel's parents at their church, maintained by Patricia. I have seen the house in which they were brought up - their father was a tenant of the Duke of Caledon.
We are interested in knowing anything about earlier generations of the family, knowing that many records were lost or destroyed. Our knowledge of generations since, in Ireland, New Zealand and Canada is good. We think that they may have moved from Fermanagh, but have no definite information.

Congratulations on the extensive research you have so far done on your Bogue ancestors. I assume you have already covered all of the usual online records available including parish records, Tithe Applotment Books and Griffith?s Valuation? If this is the case you could consider uncovering further records at the National Archives, Dublin (Encumbered Estates Court Records) or the Valuation Office (Cancelled Books research) also in Dublin.
Unfortunately these records are not available online. However you could consider a consultation with a researcher from www.eneclann, http://timeline.ie/irish-genealogy/ or http://www.apgi.ie/ with a view to uncovering further information.
Remember to post any new information that you find here. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
