I have never been able to link my first Moor(e) ancestor in America to his family in Ireland although I believe he emigrated from Co. Tyrone, Ardstraw, between 1700-1720. John Moor(e) settled in Rutland, Massachusetts and married Rosanna Crawford there in 1735 (source: Rutland Vital Records). I believe John Moore and the Crawford family all came from Ardstraw and immigrated together on the same ship. I'm trying to find the names of the parents and possible siblings of John Moor(e) in Ireland, and eventually in Scotland. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

John Moore is buried in the First Congregational Church Cemetery in Chester, MA. The inscription on his grave marker reads: “In memory of Mr. John Moor who died June 11, 1790, aged 84 years.” Verse on the grave marker reads: “Naked as from the earth we came, and crept to life at first, we to the earth reunite again, and mingle with the dust.”

His wife, Rhosanna, is also buried in the First Congregational Church Cemetery in Chester, MA. The inscription on her grave marker reads: “In memory of Mrs. Rhosanna, wife of Mr. John Moor. She died 1 Dec 1803 in the 87 year of her age. Sadly there are neither records of births in Tyrone in the 1700s nor details of people who came from Scotland in the 1600s. All we do know is that Scots settlers in the Ardstraw area mostly originated in Berwickshire, Linlithgowshire (now West Lothian) Renfrewshire, Perthshire & Ayrshire:
