Hello, I'm looking for information and family of James Lunnie/Lunny/Luney born in Oritor, Tyrone in 1767. He was my great great great grandfather. He served some 20 years in the British Army, and was rewarded land in Quebec (New Ireland) for his service. He married Mary Temple of Drumquin, Coiunty Tyrone and they had a number of children in Quebec. He died in 1839 in Quebec.

Hi again Kathy
Have you already investigated if there are any Army records available in the National Archives in Kew? I couldn't find a Luney (or variant) baptism early enough for James but this is not surprising given the early period of the search.
Best wishes

I found some records on Ancestry regarding his military service, and the land he was given in Canada, by the British Army.
