Searching for info: my Great Grandparents, Robert Thomson Knipe 1841-1891(parents Thomas Knipe 1798-1892 + Margaret McGeagh 1814-1891)
+ his wife Martha Anne Watson 1839-1909 of Unagh, Cty Tyrone.
Also info on the Watson line, Martha's brother was Rev. John Watson 1851 -1931 born Tamnaskenny, Cty Tyrone,
parents John Watson 1804-1880 + Caroline (Ellen?) McCall 1812-1885, lived Tamnaskenny, in a large house, 12 windows!.
I would like to find the current location of the farm the Watson family lived on, to visit it.
The Knipes were teachers at Unagh National School, the land for it came through the McGeagh Family.
I am searching for ANY info on the McGeaghs + McCalls and further back for the Knipes + Watsons.
I am descended from the Knipe line, My Grandfather was Dr. George Whitfield Knipe of Unagh, (Physician+Surgeon), graduated 1906, from Belfast + Edinburgh....came to Winnipeg, Canada 1912.
Thanks! Peggy, Canada

Hi
Thank you for your message.
Unagh Co Tyrone is located in the civil parish of Lissan not far from the border of County Derry - which also has a civil parish called Lissan and contains the Lissan Demesne...
Likewise - Tamnaskenny appears to be a placename in the area near Cookstown Co Tyrone - which is in the civil parish of Derryloran - Derryloran also crosses the border into Co Derry!
You can have a look at all of these civil parishes and their various placenames at:
