James Brown, born @ 1803 and Rebecca Pinkerton born @1813 from Strabane, County Tyrone, emmigrated to Canada about 1854 with their 9 children: Margaret, James, Oliver,Ann, Rebecca, Matilda born @ 1834, William born 25 Aug.1837, John born @15 Sept. 1842, Sarah born @ 1849. The journey t00k 9 weeks. The Family lived in Toronto for a short time but moved to Holstein, Ont. about 100 miles north of Toronto. The older children remained in Toronto to wprk and marry. Matilda, William, John & Sarah moved with the Parents.
