I recently found these Baptism records (on Ancestry.com) for the first 3 children of my Great Grandparents, Francis Brannigan and Susan Morris.  All 3 Baptisms were performed at Donaghmore, Tyrone, Ireland. In all 3, the Townland listed was Reclain. I would really like to find any information about Francis Brannigan birth (c.1819) and Susan Morris birth (c.1824) and their Marriage. I am assuming that these all would have been in or around Reclain, County Tyrone.

25 May 1839 - Elisabetham (Elizabeth) Branagan - Parents, Francisco Branagan and Susanna Morris - Sponsors, Jacoba Branagan and Maria Morgan.
24 Jun 1841 - Johannem (John) Branagan - Parents, Francis Branagan and Susanna Morris - Sponsor, Eugenius Branagan.
3 Nov 1843 - Jacobum (James) Branagan - Parents, Francisco Branagan and Susanna Morris - Sponsors, James and Isabella Morris.

An interesting point on the baptisms is that Ancestry.com shows them as occurring in Donaghmore, Donegal, Ireland. This at first wasn't consistent with their claim of being from County Tyrone, so I did a little more research. Turns out there are two Donaghmore parishes, one in Donegal and one in Tyrone. I went back to the baptism records and checked the townland listed. On all three, the townland was Reclain, which is in Tyrone. It appears that Ancestry.com shows the wrong Donaghmore parish for these.

  • There are several parishes named Donaghmore. One is in Co Donegal, another in Co Down and a third in Tyrone. The one with the townland of Reclain is in Tyrone. Griffiths Valuation for 1860 lists 3 Brannigan farms there ? Bernard, Thomas & John. So I?d say that?s probably where your ancestors came from. It?s 3 or 4 miles west of Castlecaulfield.

2 Brannigan households there in 1901

(The above could be the John you mention in your post, assuming he stayed in Ireland).
