  • I have found out that my great-great-great grandfather, Thomas H. Harper, was born in County Tyrone, Donaghedy Parish (spelling?) in 1817 on or around December 25.  He left Ireland for Boston with his parents, Henry and Sarah Harper, about 1831.  If anyone has any information about Donaghedy Parish birth records, (or marriage records), I would greatly appreciate it.  It appears that the family was Protestant, probably Church of England.

  • My great-great granfather, Dennis Reardon, was born in either Cork or Tipperary around 1824.  He arrived in Maine around 1844.  If anyone has information about Cork or Tipperary birth records, I would appreciate it.  I do not know the names of his parents.

  • Hi Jim,

Just a tiip: I reckon you'll get a better response to the above comment if you repost it in the Cork Message Board (Make sure you "Join" the Cork page first to be allowed to post there). You are free to leave it here as well - might as well try to spread the knowledge as much as possible.

    Thanks a lot,
