I am trying to find more about Letitia Hamilton born 1770 in Ireland. She married John Park ca 1796 in Ireland. Their first child David Park was born in 1797 in County Tyrone. She did have family that lived in Paisley, Scotland.
July 1821 the family departed for America. Arriving in New York and then going onto join other family in Beaver county, Pennsylvania. About 3 years later she and her husband John Park moved to Kentucky on a farm owned by their eldest son David.
Letitia Hamilton Park( 1840) and her husband John Park(1837) died in Elkton, Todd county, Kentucky.
Letitia Hamilton Park had these 4 siblings:
- Nancy Hamilton 1760-1831 she married George Barclay
- James Hamilton 1764 - ?
- Margaret Hamilton 1772 - ? She married Oliver Mitchell
- Thomas Hamilton 1779 - 1851 He married Margaret Mitchell ( Oliver Mitchell and his sister Margaret married Hamilton siblings.....there was suppose to be another Mitchell sister Agnes that also married a Hamilton.)

Hi,
Thanks very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.
In the meantime it may be difficult to find more info without a more specific place of origin. Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or placename, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.
Do you have any documentation pertaining to the family that mentions any place names in Tyrone at all? This can include wills, marriage/death records, census records, letters, diary entries etc.
There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
Have you tried looking into the family?s emigration? Sometimes more infomation can be found at the port of arrival rather than that of departure. You may be lucky and find a place name here. For information on US immigration records check http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
Some other websites that may be helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/

Remember to post any new information that you find here. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Kind regards,
