Information on Hugh and Nancy (Ann) Cunningham

Do you have any other information Hugh and Nancy that you can share?

Unfortunately, without more information, especially a more specific place of origin, it may be difficult to find records relating to them.  Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or placename, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.

Do you have any documentation belonging to the family that mentions a townland/parish/village/town or county even? This can include official or unofficial documents like wills, census records, birth/marriage/death records or diary entries, letters, old photographs, family bibles.

Have you tried looking into their emigration? Generally more inforamtion was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure so this may be a place to find more information-and perhaps even an exact place of origin. For inforamtion on Canadian immigration records check the National Libray and Archives at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/index-e.html

You could also try doing a search fo the family in church records online, however there is no complete database of church records available. Here are some places you can search:

www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some birth and marriage records for Ireland.

http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/index.html has records form Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts o f Cork online

www.rootsireland.ie vast collection of Irish church records however yo uhave to pay to use this.

You could try searching for Hugh in the Tithe Applotment Books. These are land records that were compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland. However they give no genealogical information so it is difficult to know whether or not the results are relevant to your search. However, it may also act as a starting point for your search if you are very stuck. I did a search for Hugh Cunningham and some results came back, two of which are possibilities given the dates:
