In the early 1820's John Callaghan & John Rodgers at Raspberry Hill Donemana had an altercation at a hotel that resulted in the death of Mr Callaghan, I am assuming the Callaghans were from Carnagribben or somewhere else in Donemana and I am not sure where John Rodgers was living in 1820's. and if he was related to the Rodgers from Carnagribben and Gorticlare, I am looking for information on both familys. Both places being part of the Ogilby Estate in the 1820's.
So if you are a Callaghan maybe related to George Callaghan from Carnagribben in the 1880's I would love to talk to you.
Regards Gordon Rodgers

Dear Gordon
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I see that the Derry Journal has a report on the incident in 1826:

Unfortunately it does not give us much by way of biographical info, age etc. John could have been born at any time prior to 1800 and at that point parish records at not always accessible. For example records for the RC parish of Donaghedy (Dunamanagh\) do not begin until 1854 for baptisms and 1858 for marriages.
Best wishes
