    Hi Roberta,

Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone researching the family makes a connection with you.

However, it would greatly help if you could narrow down the place of origin in CO. Tyrone.

Do you have any documentation relating to the family that mentions a more specific place name? This can include official documents such as census records, wills, marriage/death records, or unofficial documents such as letters, diary entries, old photographs. Sometimes a place can be found inscribed on gravestones.

Have you looked into Catherine?s emigration for more information? SOmetimes you can find a place of origin more specific than a county in these records. For information on US immigration records check:

Also, civil registration became mandatory in Ireland in 1864, as a result you should be able to find James? death record, which will give you a place name. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

  • Roberta,

I just encountered this via random searches....

If you're still out there, I have direct connection to this line. I've recently joined Ancestor.com and have been attempting to trace my Moore line. I'm working off a document written  in 1906 by Joseph Moore, son of James who is son of James. Your posting exactly matches what I'm trying to find....

Another son of James was James . His son Robert is related to me. (He was in Cleveland, OH.)

Who, might I ask, was your husband related to.

    Hope you're still out there...
