  • Hello:  Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome to the site.  There are Catholic parish registers for Clogher on the National Library of Ireland site at the link below and you should look at these for a possible marriage record:  https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632816#page/1/mode/1up.     It doesn’t appear that the Church Of Ireland registers are available through the Roots Ireland site which is a transcription service (fee-paying).  These registers may be held at the RCB Library in Dublin which is the repository for Church of Ireland records.  You should take a look at their site to see what they hold.

The Email address for genealogical enquirers is:  library@ireland.anglican.org

They will be able to assist you further.  It is also possible that the registers may be in local custody.

If that is the case, you will need to deal directly with the local church office.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread.  The very best of luck with your research.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • Gail,

It’s probably worth considering whether the family may have been Presbyterian. If so, there are 2 Presbyterian churches in the Clogher area. Aughentaine has baptism records from 1836 and marriages from 1845 onwards. Carntall aka Clogher has baptisms 1819-1845 and 1858 onwards, plus marriages 1829 onwards. Copies of both churches records are in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast. I don’t think the records are on-line anywhere, so you may need to get a researcher to look them up for you in PRONI.
