Kilbarrymeaden is in the barony of Upperthird, is located 4 miles from Kilmacthomas holding a population of 2416 people.
The Irish Mining Company have a lot of employees that would have dug and found Copper Ore and lead ore which is situated in the townland of Kilmurrin. The boss who is over the company would have been impressed to see their findings and granted them housing to make easier for the workers to start mining on a regular basis.
Anglo norman invaders founded the town of Dunbratten under the rule of Raymond le Gros. They conquered the Danes at the City of Waterford so that land was taken over. And thats how the town was established as they built a castle there back in the 13th century.
The R.C Divisions form part of a union of the parish itself.
