I'm not from Mayo either but love the county.  Bilbow doesn't sound like a common name in Ireland now - its always worth thinking about could the name have changed a little along the way?

There was a hotel in Westport, County Mayo called Cavanaugh's - were they relations?

Hello Again I am still trying to find out if there are any of my wife family in Mayo, My name is Edward Cavanaugh writing from Philadelphia Pa. The Name I am looking for is a Patrick Bilbow who was born on 1 of Feb 1864 then came to Luzerne  County in the State of Pa. One of his  sons Matthew Bilbow can to Philadelphia and worked on the waterfront. There are three names that come up with the name of Bilbow are if spelling correctly are Ballina , Killala,, and Moygonga. in County Mayo. I am hoping to come to Ireland and stay in KIltimagh for a few day to find if anything is there. I do not have a round about how long it would take to find these places so that is why I am writting to see if any know of Patrick Bilbow and what town maybe there are from.
