Its situated 4 miles from Athlone town on the north east area of county Westmeath. It would be on the way to Mullingar from Athlone. It has a population of 4739. There was a battle that took place between two teams, yeomanry & peasantry. Both of them wanted to make a legislation the ballot for the militia. It has an area of 6194 acres, and it is under the legal system of the tithe act, the country side is well look after by the public. A big mansion that was built in 1814 has got a nice lake near to where the building is and it has a got a nice layout of gardens.
