I am seeking information on the family of Thomas Rickard and Ann Keenan.  After spending some time with Griffith's Valuation, I think it likely that the family resided in Ballymorin, County Westmeath, as that appears to be one of the only towns in Ireland that had a Thomas Rickard at that time.

The couple had at least 3 children: Mary, born abt 1833, Ann, born abt 1836 and Thomas, born abt 1838.  The 3 children were living in Buffalo, New York by 1860 - no sign of the parents.  I am interested in finding a marriage record for the parents and birth records for the children.

I would appreciate your help in directing me to where these records may be found.

  • Larry:

Civil registration in Ireland did not begin until 1864. Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie has RC baptismal and marriage records for Ballymorin parish going back to 1781.

Roots is a pay site to view actual records.
