Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to roll out across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organised.

Many thanks.

This area is located only 3 miles from Athlone and holds 1418 people. It would be on the shores of lough ree. Sir James Dillon had taken over the town of athlone in the year 1641 but then he had to abandon his headquaters in the town. He was only there for approximetly 3 weeks. He then was based in the village of ballykieran where he lived there ever since. Thw agriculture there is of slow but progressive movement, waste lands are at the rocky shores of the lake.
