I am looking for information on the McCormicks of Mullingar. My ancestor Thomas McCormick b.1789 was transported to Australia in 1816 as a convict on the Guildford 2 for burglery and carding. He may have had a brother George who was transported a year later on the Pilot. I have reason to believe his parents names were Thomas and Margaret Fahey. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Suby
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
There are 6 McCormick entries in the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-37):
There are 7 McCormick entries in the Griffith's Valaution (1847-1864)

Even though these sources only record the head of the household, the information is very important and can be valuable.
I had a look on www.rootsireland.ie but I couldn?t find a record for the baptisms of George or Thomas nor for a marriage for their parents. They may have been married in a parish at a time that predates the parish records. Do the boys? transportation details mention Mullingar specifically? Have you tried searching Ancestry.com for any mention of your ancestor?s name in member family trees or messages?
Best wishes
