Hello , hope you are all doing great:

I'm still searching info about my Parker line, and recently I've found a couple of records, possibly a sibling of my great great granmother , could you please take a look and let me know what your thoughts are?

What I have is this:

Daniel Parker married to Margaret/Marcella Geraghty in 1821, parent of:

-Anne Parker ( 1823) - my great great grandmother

-Catherine ( 1832)

-Patrick (1834)

all of them from Rathowen, Russagh, Westmeath

I know that this parish doesn´t have all the records, and there are some gasps, bue I've find this:

Thomas Parker, married 6 of November of 1869, in Rathowen, Russagh, to Margaret Duck

the groom is about 31 years old, and his father is Daniel Parker, from the same parish, as a witness.

I know that the parish didn`t cover those years of baptisms, but something is telling me that Thomas could be the brother of Ann ( my great great granmother) , Catherine and Patrick

Even the witness of the marriage of Daniel Parker to Marcella/Margaret Geraghty in 1821, is Thomas Parker, maybe Daniel`s father and the granfather of the Thomas I've just found...( anbd since is the 1st male, can be the name of his grandfather)

What are your thoughts?

have a great day! xx

See last record at the link for the 1869 marriage record. Thomas is shown as 38 and father was Daniel. They lived in Corrydonellan townland in Russagh civil parish. I think Thomas is likely a brother to Anne.

1901 census for Corrydonellan has Patrick Parker and his family in Corrydonellan.

  • thank you so much, Roger!

I feel the same, that is a brother to Ann, Catherine and Patrick. And that Thomas is the name of his granfather, Daniel´s father...

Can you confirm to me, what is the chapel where they get married? it is says, Rathowen, but at the end you can see "Junestown"?

    Tks again

I can't find Junestown in any list of townlands. Not sure why the clerk/registrar has Rathowen in one location and Junestown in another. I would go with Rathowen.
