Maurice and Johanna OBrien Connors of watergrasshill

Hello again!

I'm having a little difficulty with your family. When I search the Watergrasshill RC records on www.irishgenealogy.ie the only baptismal record I could find was a Maurice Connor in 1867 with father Maurice and mother Joan Malone. I found the related civil record which is the first record below. I looked for a Hanora record with no success but I did find the Mary record in 1874 (second link below) with father Maurice and mother Johanna Brien. They were living in Condonstown.

I also looked at the 1901 census for the Watergrasshill area and found a Johanna Connors, a widow, with a son John. It appears there are two Maurice Connor/Connors with a wife names Johanna. Any other clues?

The only place they seem to be definitely is the Condonstown, Rathcormac, Fermoy, Cork entry for Mary who immigrated to Connecticut in the U.S. as Hannorah (born 08/28/1871) , Maurice (08/1870?) (the son) and Thomas do.  Do you have any idea where the next place to look may be? Debbie

How about revewing the Watergrasshill parish register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0099 to see if you can find Hannorah? Not every birth was civilly registered. Let me know how you make out.

Rathcormac is the RC parish to the east of Watergrasshill.

I now believe Maurice Connors was married to Johanna Malone  (born 1837 county Waterford, died January 2, 1907 Fermoy) and that the One birth record that listed Johanna O'Brien was a mistake.
