Hi Maureen
Can you supply a first name for your gggfather please.
Wife's name would also help.
Thanks

That was silly...... leaving out names.;)
His name was Michael. The Lewiston, Maine census has him at 65 in 1860 so that's whay I gave an approximate birth year as around 1795-1798. I am taking a wild guess at birth place for Michael since Wexford seems to be a place of Kavanaugh's. I was thinking Kilkenney before but have no idea why since it was not a Kavanugh stronghold according to an online family names map.
His wife was Mary O'Connell Kavanugh. Her parents being Timothy (also may have been known as Lunathy) and Catherine Hoar/Hoare O'Connell.
This is the Hoar/O'Connell connection in my other post.
Thanks for all your help. Maureen

Thank you for this. I have looked a bit on the Irish genealogy link you sent previously. I did not specify a county and only got a couple of Michael Kavanaughs. I take into account the variations in spelling.
How did you find 17? I wish I had a specific county I could be sure of.
