I am looking for anyone with information regarding the Chapman Family from Ballyliamgow, Newbawn. County Wexford. My father's name was Patrick Joseph Chapman and I belive his mother's name was Bridget. Her sister Johanna raised him for reasons I know nothing about. Please help!

  • Hi Sue,

Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone who recognises the names makes a connection with you.

In the meantime it may be an idea to also post this message in a more local forum to increase the likelihood that someone who knows of the family sees it. Some possible places you could do this are newsletters or newspapers, perhaps in the following:

    New Ross Standard: http://www.independent.ie/regionals/newrossstandard/

    Adamstown Parish Newsletter: http://www.saintabbans.com/

    Wexford Echo: http://www.wexfordecho.ie/

    Wexford People Online: http://wexfordpeople.newspaperdirect.com/epaper/viewer.aspx

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Sue,

I came across your message totally by accident. I know of Patrick Joseph Chapman and his mother Bridget. Perhaps you have got some information already from your post? Looking forward to sharing information or helping you as much as I can.

    Regards,

    Marie.

  • Hi Marie,

Just came across your notice after logging in for the 1st time in months. My brother David is finding out more about the family and contacting relatives that he knows about. I am in contact with Stasia Brackenridge?? through facebook. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

We know that Bridgets sister Joanna raised him & have some births certificates for family members but I am sure there is a lot more to be told about the family history. Will we ever really know what happened so many years ago?

    Regards

    Sue
