With the parish records online and available to search through, I believe that I have found information on my great grandfather, Moses Boggan (b. 1859/1860 in Wexford, d. 1950 in Buffalo, NY).  His parents were Michael Boggan and Julia Myler.  Moses appears to have been their only child.  His father, Michael, sailed on the James Baines in 1854 (during its record setting trip) and according to an article written many years after his death apparently lived near the Redmond family and sailed on their ships.  I'd love to find out more about Michael and his life as a sailor.

Looking through the records, I found a Michael Boggan born in 1828 to Moses Boggan and Biddy Browne, who also had a second son named Moses.  At that same time in Wexford, there was a second Moses Boggan and Margaret Walsh with a much larger family. It's become a tangle trying to figure out anything else back from then because there are too many Moses Boggans.  If anyone has looked into this family, I'd love to figure out how all the Moses connect together.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I think the best way to tackle this is to remove yourself from what you think your connection to the above entries are and simply record everything you can as objectively as you can  In the past I have actually printed out entries I made and created a physical family tree on the floor so that I could get it clear in my had who was relate to whom. This is particularly the case for those that have the same or similar names. You may find that this type of information gathering exercise is time consuming but ultimately useful.

    Best wishes
